Seminars & Workshops

Workshops:
Through lecture and interactive sessions during eight or sixteen hours of training, we will engage participants in discussions about actual cases. Workshop sessions should be limited to twelve investigators selected to ensure for full participation.

During the last hour of the session Cold Case Forum staff will offer optional training to Chiefs and/or command staff which will illustrate why pursuing open or “cold case” homicides is so fundamentally important to your program of enhancing public safety and reducing violence in your community. We will offer alternative suggestions about resource allocation, case management and prioritization for your consideration.

Follow-up communication between Cold Case Forum and the client police department or agency will continue at the discretion or need of the department. We will continue to be available after completed trainings to act as consultants or sounding boards, to offer suggestions that will assist individual investigators. This service will be provided on a pro bono basis.

The cost for the one day Cold Case Forum Workshop is $1,450 plus expenses. Cost for a two day workshop is $2,550 plus expenses. A two day workshop allows for more in depth discussion of cases and strategies. In addition to covering training fees and expenses, this cost includes the Cold Case Investigator's Manual that will be presented to each attendee and which contains valuable information and resource material for anyone involved in the difficult work of investigating cold cases. We will also be available for consultation on a pro bono basis.

Seminars:
Seminars may be planned well in advance with a host agency having the benefit of significant discounts for their personnel. A one or two day seminar would require multi-agency participation with a minimum of thirty attendees.
